Journey for the Wild
The John Muir Trust have set a bold challenge to the walkers (and runners, sailors and canoeists) of the country this year, in the shape of the Jo urney for the Wild. This involves walks from the four corners of Great Britain, meeting up on Ben Nevis on 26 August, and then continuing to Edinburgh.
It would be great to do a whole route, but as a compromise between distance and wild country, I registered to walk Leg S18, which started at the Centre for Alternative Technology (a few miles North of Machynlleth) took in Cadair Idris, the Rhinogs, the Moelwyns and Snowdon, and ended at the beautiful Cae Mabon, near Llanberis.
The map below give an overview of the route.
